Meet Malaysia at a glance
Malaysia is a popular destination for Pakistani people to immigrate to because of the economic opportunities it offers. Despite its relatively small population, Malaysia boasts a vibrant South Asian diaspora who make significant economic contributions as skilled workers and entrepreneurs. Malaysia offers many other advantages, such as being a safe and politically stable country, a highly developed healthcare system, and an internationally recognized education system. There are now over 59,281 people of Pakistani origin who live in Malaysia. Most Pakistanis move to Malaysia as economic class immigrants.
There are several programs that Pakistani people are eligible for when immigrating to Malaysia. Some of these programs include:
- Malaysia My Second Home (MM2H) visa: This is a long-term residency program for foreigners who wish to live in Malaysia on a social visit pass. Pakistani citizens can apply for this visa if they meet the financial and other requirements set by the Malaysian government. This visa is valid for 10 years and can be renewed.
- Malaysia eVisa: The Malaysia eVisa is an electronic visa that enables Pakistani citizens to visit Malaysia for tourism purposes. This visa is valid for 3 months, allowing a maximum stay of 30 days in a single entry.
- Malaysia Work Permit: Pakistani citizens seeking employment opportunities in Malaysia must apply for a work permit. The work permit application process is typically initiated by the Malaysian employer, who must obtain approval from the relevant authorities before the employee can apply for a visa.
